Portsmouth Community Power Hosts Public Information Meeting May 11

May 1, 2023

On April 12, 2023, the NH Public Utilities Commission (PUC) notified the City of Portsmouth it had approved the Portsmouth Community Power Energy Aggregation Plan which allows the City to move forward on securing less expensive and “greener” electric power for residents and businesses.

Portsmouth Community Power is eligible to launch June 1, 2023. Information letters detailing the benefits – and how to be part of Portsmouth Community Power or to opt out – are being mailed starting April 28.

To explain how Portsmouth Community Power works and to answer customer questions, the Portsmouth Energy Advisory Committee is hosting a public informational meeting on May 11, 2023 at 6 pm in City Hall Council Chambers.

Portsmouth joined the Community Power Coalition of NH in April 2022, and is now one of more than 30 towns and cities across the state planning to secure power from the Coalition and will follow the ten “wave one” communities including Rye that launched their community power efforts this month.
