The Portsmouth Public Library will be hosting 3 self-care themed workshops on the evenings of the Full Moon during June, July, and August. Free and open to all, ages 13+.
DIY Full Moon Bath Bombs on June 17th at 7:00 PM: Do you need a natural way to unwind after a long day? Do you have a bathtub? Library staff Stacia and Heather will teach you to make bath bombs free of harsh chemicals to use in your bathtub! Materials will be provided. Allergen information will be available at the event. Register for this event!
Full Moon Journaling on July 16th at 7:00 PM: Have you wanted to keep a journal, but are not sure how to start? Or have previously kept one, but fell out of the habit? Or are you curious to learn about the different types of journal practices? Join library staff Stacia, Heather, and Katharine for an evening of journaling under the full moon. We will explore different techniques, engage in some writing prompts, and use the energy of the full moon to shed stories that no longer serve us. Journals will be provided, but feel free to bring your own! Register for this event!
Full Moon Yoga & Meditation on August 15th at 7:00 PM: Join our yoga and meditation class taught by Lona Kovacs focusing on gentle hip-openers and yoga stretches to prepare you for a sitting mediation practice with minimal pain. Open to all-levels, the full moon is a time of opening and creativity, so yoga poses that are expansive will be explored along with breath and movement. A short guided sitting meditation will follow your movement practice. Wear comfortable clothing to move and sit in. Please bring a yoga mat and props (brick/bolster/strap/blanket, etc) if you have them as supplies are limited. Register for this event!
Sign up for one, or all three, programs at the Reference Desk, by calling 766-1720, or online at cityofportsmouth.com/library/news/fullmoon.
