Speed bumps were installed at the request of the neighborhood, primarily to discourage higher speed cut-through traffic using the neighborhood to travel between Route 1 and Ocean Road, when traffic is heavy on Route 1. The request for speed bumps came from the neighborhood residents during the public meetings to discuss the construction of new sidewalks in the neighborhood. DPW will continue to monitor speeds and the amount of cut-through traffic in the coming weeks.
The Department of Public Works hosted a Public Information project pre-construction meeting on March 13. Go to the presentation.
