Snow load out operations and parking ban occurring downtown Sunday, January 7th into early Monday morning

January 7, 2018

Beginning at 8:00 p.m. on Sunday, January 7th, Public Works crews will be conducting a downtown snow load out in order to clear streets and improve safety. These operations will continue throughout the night into early Monday morning. Therefore, all vehicles must be removed off downtown City streets prior to the times displayed per area on the map below. This map indicates the planned routes crews will be addressing in phases throughout the evening. Residents are encouraged to place their cars in the High-Hanover Garage where a $3 parking fee will apply until 8:00 a.m. Monday morning. To qualify for the rate, residents must simply show a valid driver's license or vehicle registration with a Portsmouth address to the booth attendant when exiting the garage.

Depending on weather conditions throughout this week, Public Works may announce another snow load out to continue clean-up. Residents are advised to sign up for CodeRED notifications to stay aware of these announced operations and visit the City’s website for updated information.
