Health is a required course offered primarily to tenth grade students and those students transferring into the district that have not yet met the health course requirement. Health education equips students with knowledge, awareness and skills so that they can value, practice, and help others practice healthy behaviors. Health education is concerned with addressing students' health during their school days and providing for lifelong health promotion. Good health involves more than knowledge of food and exercise; it includes an awareness of our attitudes and feelings about ourselves and our lifestyles. Students who are enrolled in the health course will develop a knowledge and appreciation for their personal health as well as develop and enhance a positive self-concept.
