Dog License

As required by State law, all dogs residing in the City of Portsmouth must be licensed. You will receive a license certificate and a small numbered tag to be placed on the dog collar for assistance in the case your dog is lost.

Dog Licensing for 2020 has not yet begun.  Current licenses do not expire until April 30, 2020 as the licensing period for the State of New Hampshire runs April to April with the month of May also being a grace period.  Renewal letters and e-mails will be sent once the City Clerk's office is ready to begin the 2020 Licensing process.  If you should have any questions, please contact the City Clerk’s Office at 610-7245.
