Before you can register online, you must create an account in person first. Beginning on Monday, March 9, you can stop by the Indoor Pool anytime they are open to create your account. It will only take a couple minutes! Portsmouth Residents should bring their license, but that's all we'll need to see. If you aren't sure if your account is all set, call the pool at 603-427-1546 and they can double check for you. Then on registration day, you can sign up from home or on the go! Camp FunStuff

Registration:

Begins April 6, 2020 at 5:00pm for Portsmouth Residents. This year registration will take place online and in person at the Connie Bean Center. Registration for Non-residents from ANY town will begin Thursday, April 9, 2020 at 5:00pm online and in person. Camp Description:

Camp FunStuff is an all day program run from the Connie Bean Recreation Center with organized games, group activities, sports, swimming, special events, field trips, arts & crafts and much more! This year we have introduced theme weeks. Each week will have a different theme, and activities and field trips will center around the theme. Camp mornings are filled with group activities, and afternoons are spent either at the beach or at the Peirce Island Outdoor Pool. Rainy Days will bring activities into the school gym for movies, board games and crafts for all campers to use. Camp is held Rain or Shine!

Ages:

Camp FunStuff is for children entering grades 1-6.

Fee:

Residents: $140  Non-residents: $160. Included in the fee is the camp t-shirt.

Monday-Friday, 8:30am-5:00pm SHARP! 

Early Drop Off:

Children may be dropped off between 7:30-8:30am for an additional $25 per week. (If you are doing online registration and would like early drop off, you must register for it as a separate course.)

All Sports Camp

Registration:

Camp Description:

This camp is for children who want to learn and play a variety of sports. Campers will play different sports throughout the morning, including touch football, soccer, basketball, volleyball, baseball, kickball and more! Each afternoon will be spent at the Peirce Island Pool, and each week will have a different sports-related field trip. New this year will be the opportunity to sign up for extended day time. For $20 per week, campers may stay from 4:00-5:00pm. 

Ages:

All Sports Camp is for children entering grades 3-8.

Fee:

Residents: $95  Non-residents: $115. Included in the fee is the reversible Sport Camp Pinney. Children should plan on bringing this everyday.

Camp Hours:

Monday-Friday, 8:00am-4:00pm

Extended Day:

Children may stay late between 4:00-5:00pm for an additional $20 per week. (If you are doing online registration and would like extended day, you must register for it as a separate course.)

The Youth Baseball/Softball Program is designed for children to have fun and learn the fundamentals of baseball and softball. Each day will focus on fun drills to enhance skill development and end with a small baseball game using a whiffle ball and/or soft t-ball. This program is co-sponsored by Marshall Rental Center. There will be 50 spots available to this program.

Ages:

Program Description:

Each week in Multi-Sport a new sport is introduced, with children breaking up into teams for instructional skills and games.  Scheduled sports are basketball, flag football, soccer, volleyball, street hockey, ultimate Frisbee and more!  Multi-sport is a non-competitive and fun program where all participants play an equal amount of time.  No experience is required as skills will be taught. There will be 50 spots available to this program.

Soccer Skillz

Registration:

Program Description:

Players are taught the basic soccer skills in a relaxed and fun environment. Emphasis will be on increasing soccer skills and learning fundamentals by getting the kids to have as many touches as they can with the ball every session. Each day will begin with fun soccer drills and end with a small soccer game. Please bring plenty of water and enthusiasm!

LEGO® Robotics Camp

Session One: 

LEGO® Build & Code

Fee: $115

Young builders will have an opportunity to explore the amazing world of LEGO® robotics with the latest LEGO® WeDo 2.0 robotics systems. Young engineers will be guided step by step as they build a wide variety of projects including helicopters, race cars, and animals. Then children will use th eWeDo 2.0 software as they bring their creation to life, all while developing computational thinking skills like logical reasoning and pattern recognition. The drag and drop software is easy for students to use and understand! Participants do not take LEGO®s home.

Grades:  1-6           Time: 9:00-11:45am

Session Two:

LEGO® Robotics & Engineering

FEE: $115

Learn building and programming skills with LEGO® WeDo 2.0 and LEGO® Mindstorms to explore and produce a variety of working models. Have your own idea? Then dig your hands into over 50,000 specialized LEGO® technic parts, motors and sensors to create your own robot. Then use LEGO®'s easy-to-use drag and drop software to bring your creation to life! Participants do not take LEGO®s home.

Grades:  1-6      Time: 12:15-3:00 pm

Paint a Pirate Skill Bank, a Treasure Map plate with a 3D add-on of your choice (choose a chip, skull, crossbones or a shark!), a Pirate Dude Dunk Mug for you and your cookies and make a special Ice Cream Bowl to look like buried treasure.

Camp Description:

Jungle Cruisin'!

Make a clay tiger mask from real clay, paint one our cool Dunk Mugs to look like a jungle animal, paint your very own jungle critter buddy (an elephant, lion or giraffe), and create a canvas painting of the Deep Savannah at sunset!

Preseason Conditioning for Middle School Athletes

 

Portsmouth Middle School Assistant Cross Country Coach Mike ‘Eli’ Eliasberg will be offering a structured running program for middle school students.  The program will run three nights per week, beginning in early August. Exact schedule is TBA.  Runners will meet at Portsmouth High School (Come ready to run).

Cost is Free.
