Farm To School Program

Clipper Farm To School LogoFarm to School is a national movement that introduces kids to locally grown, farm-fresh food right in their school, planting the seeds for a healthier future, building community, and strengthening the local economy.

  • Lifting the Stigma of School Meals: School meals have a bad rep and Farm to School seeks to change that. By adding fresh, delicious fruits and veggies to the menu and involving kids in the growing process, kids not only enjoy and appreciate what they eat more, they also bring those healthy habits home.
  • Creating Learning Opportunities: Farm to School is about more than kids digging in the dirt. It’s about increasing experiential (hands-on) learning opportunities that are proven to get even reluctant learners excited and engaged with school.
  • Helping Support Local Farms: When we invest in our local economy through the purchase power of school meals, farmers and local food producers not only survive but thrive.
