Working together with the Community Development and Public Works Departments, the Senior Services Division of the Recreation Department undertook an adaptive reuse of the Doble facility to accommodate existing Senior Activity Center Program. The new facility provides more than double the amount of space available to the Senior Center in its current location and will incorporate some Council on Aging-recommended design features.
The Senior Activity Center will close if the Portsmouth schools are canceled due to weather. In the event of a school delay, the center will open at the regular time.
Closings will be posted on WMUR 9.
Also “Community Campus” posts their closing schedule along with the school listings. If Community Campus is closed
then the center will be closed as well. Please note that even if the center is open for the day, a class instructor may chose to
cancel their class.
