SPLASH Student Art Exhibit

On behalf of Portsmouth Schools’ Visual Arts Department we'd like to welcome you to join us in celebrating the creative, collaborative, conceptual, expressive and technical accomplishments of our students in grades K-12. Join us us for an opening reception on

Sunday March 8 | 2 – 4 PM

Over 300 works of art will be on display representing not just “talent” but hours and weeks of critical-thinking, problem-solving, teamwork, social-emotional reflection, and learning of how to communicate ideas, feelings, opinions, beauty, heritage and more through the universal language of art! Come enjoy refreshments and smiles!

SPLASH! The Art of Portsmouth’s Young People exhibit will be up from

ON VIEW : March 6 – April 5

This exhibit will feature hundreds of stunning creations that showcase the innovative, inspiring minds of our Visual Arts students from grades K-12. The Portsmouth Public Library will come alive with art from Dondero, Little Harbour, New Franklin as well as the Portsmouth Middle and High Schools. Come feast your eyes on this dazzling display of two- and three-dimensional artwork which will be featured in the Levenson Community Meeting room and throughout the library.

This is both a culmination of work since the beginning of the school year as well as a celebration of Youth Art Month. The artwork, hung by art educators of the Portsmouth School Department as well as library staff, varies in style, medium, and materials. Works will range from tiny to gigantic, including collages, mobiles, weavings, ceramics, sculpture and photography. You will see paintings and drawings done from observation and inspired by artists in a variety of mediums plus much, much more!
