TEEN LITERARY CLUB

The Teen Literary Club has chosen the #1 Best Seller The 57 Bus: A True Story of Two Teenagers and the Crime that Changed Their Lives by Dashka Slater as their March book.

The novel focuses around two high school students from Oakland, California, one of the most diverse cities in the country. Sasha, a white teen, lived in the middle-class foothills and attended a small private school. Richard, a black teen, lived in the crime-plagued flatlands and attended a large public one. Each day, their paths overlapped for a mere eight minutes. But one afternoon on the bus ride home from school, a single reckless act left Sasha severely burned, and Richard charged with two hate crimes and facing life imprisonment. The case garnered international attention, thrusting both teenagers into the spotlight.

Join us on Thursday, March 29th in Ms. LaVallee's room during TASC.  Feel free to bring a friend, food, and your ideas.

ADDITIONAL PARKING FOR STUDENTS

Additional parking for students with a PHS parking sticker is available at the tennis courts. Students parking without a parking sticker will be warned and towed.

STUDENTS - TASC ATTENDANCE

Students are not to be in the room of a teacher during TASC unless they are on that teacher’s TASC attendance roster for that day.  There are no same day changes to attendance rosters. Students need to take responsibility to plan ahead for TASC. We realize things may come up during a week that may warrant a change to your schedule after it is set on Monday, but any change should be made at least one day prior. After February vacation, it will be considered a skipped class resulting in disciplinary measures for any student in the wrong room during TASC block.
