Who is the School Counselor?
My name is Joy Testa-Cutting. I received a Bachelor of Arts degree in Social Work from UNH and a Masters in Counseling/Consultation from Keene State College. Before I worked in elementary education, I worked in Higher Education as a Residence Director for 6 years at colleges and universities in New England. I have volunteered for Hospice for 15 years and have extensive training in bereavement counseling with children and adults. I worked in the Bridges Program (ages 4-18) facilitated bereavement groups for adults and worked at the hospice house with patients and their families.I have been trained in Open Circle and facilitate classroom groups and support teachers. I have worked as an Elementary School Counselor for 30 years, 28 of them at New Franklin School!
I am the oldest of 7 children and grew up in North Hampton, NH. I enjoy any kind of day at the beach and am grateful for being able to look out my window and see it!
