Portsmouth Rec's Early Release Day

Time: End of School (Noon) - 5 pm
Location: Community Campus
Description: Join us for a fun day at the Community Campus! Students can take the bus from Portsmouth Elementary Schools or be dropped off. Upon arrival, we will eat lunch, play some games, and get ready for our April field trip to Bowl-O-Rama and May Field Trip (TBD).
Fee: $25 Resident, $35 Non-Resident

Notes: Drop-off and Pick-Up at Community Campus. Please bring your own lunch.

Join the Recreation Department for a trip to the Big Apple! We will be taking a coach bus, complete with wifi, power at every seat, and a restroom on board. Leaving early from Portsmouth, we arrive in midtown Manhattan in the late morning, giving you until dinner time to spend the day shopping, sightseeing, taking in a show, visiting museums, or try some of everything. 

Saturday, April 6. The bus departs the Senior Center at 125 Cottage St. at 5:30am, and departs New York at 7:00pm.

Residents: $95 Nonresidents: $105 Cost includes roundtrip transportation and all gratuities.

Trip is open to all ages, but those under 18 must be accompanied by an adult.

• Taking place at Community Campus Gym, 100 Campus Drive. Free and ample parking.
• This event is free and open to everyone. 
• Bring a bag (or not) and come shop for new-to-you clothing and shoes. 

A long standing tradition of supper with the companionship of friends - old and new.

Fun family event to bring your bike and get a safety check, helmet check, decorate your bike, and ride around the bike course. Guided neighborhood rides. No reservations required. FREE; Everyone welcome.
Ride your bike to NFS or drive and bring your bike. Location: New Franklin School (outside)

• Annual Mayor's Ride, led by Seacoast Area Bike Riders, from 3:30-5:00pm.

Everyone welcome. FREE. In partnership with Seacoast Area Bike Riders (SABR)

At Kids Night Out, your child will enjoy an evening of pizza and a movie. Other activities will include games, activities and crafts. Parents can enjoy a night out WITHOUT the kiddos! Let Portsmouth Rec be your babysitter.

Let the Rec Department Take You Out to The Ballgame! The Boston Red Sox will be taking on the Washington Nationals for this Saturday afternoon game. Our seats are in the Left Field Grandstand, so we'll be out of the sun or rain. Cost includes round trip coach bus from the Senior Center (125 Cottage St.) to Fenway and a ticket to the game.

Holiday Parade & Tree Lighting 2024

The Portsmouth Holiday Parade is an annual favorite for people across the seacoast! The parade takes place each year on the 1st Saturday of December. The event is free and open to all. The evening begins in Market Square with the Mayor and City Council hosting the Tree Lighting Ceremony from 5:00-5:30pm. The parade then kicks off at 6:00pm and marches down Islington St., arriving in Market Square approximately 20-30 minutes later.
