Fall Programs
Fall Soccer
Our fall soccer program is back with instructional soccer leagues for boys and girls from preschool through fourth grade. All youth soccer games take place at the Recreation Field Athletic Field Complex on Campus Drive. Players will receive a t-shirt, soccer socks and shin guards. We need volunteer coaches for all ages groups! Coaches will have the opportunity to attend a coach's clinic at the beginning of the season, and be given outlines of skills focus for the week. The cost is $50 for residents and $70 for nonresidents. Thank you to our league sponsor, Marshall Rental. Registration begins Monday, August 8 at 9:00am for residents and Monday, August 15 at 9:00am for nonresidents.
Pre-K Soccer (co-ed)
There will be no structured “games” at this level. The focus will be on an introduction to soccer by making drills and instruction fun and informative.
All teams meet on Saturday from 8:00-8:45am.
K-1 Soccer Boys
Each session will be divided to practice of drills and skills in the first half-hour with a specific focus each week, and end with a game in the second half.
All K-1 Boys teams will meet on Saturdays from 9:00-10:00am and on Tuesdays from 5:15-6:15pm.
K-1 Soccer Girls
Each session will be divided to practice of drills and skills in the first half-hour with a specific focus each week, and end with a game in the second half.
All K-1 Girls teams will meet on Saturdays from 10:00-11:00am and on Tuesdays from 4:15-5:15pm.
2-4 Soccer Boys
Each session will begin with a short practice/warm up before their game.
All 2-4 Boys teams will meet on Saturdays from 11:00am-12:00pm and on Thursdays from 5:15-6:15pm.
2-4 Soccer Girls
Each session will begin with a short practice/warm up before their game.
All 2-4 Girls teams will meet on Saturdays from 12:00-1:00pm and on Thursdays from 4:15-5:15pm.

Tennis in the Parks
Led by an approved USTA Net Generation tennis coach, the program focuses on developing the skills to serve, rally and play. It’s perfect for beginners and first-time players. Once skills are built, players will have fun matches. This program uses modified tennis balls, age-appropriate rackets and court sizes. Plus, we use the latest fun and engaging activities that help players successfully learn and play the game quicker! Players in their first session receive and keep a new tennis racket, and a program t-shirt! Registration begins Monday, August 8 at 9:00am for residents and nonresidents.

Pre-K Music Together
Early childhood music and movement program. Help little ones develop their innate musicality. Located at the Community Campus. Register online at the Music Together website. Ages infant through Pre-K.
One day per week: Monday - Saturday sessions. 9:00-9:45am or 10:30-11:15am.
Fall Session: Week of September 12 through week of November 18. Cost is $165 per child.

Creative Drama
This fun, beginners program introduces children to the world of acting and theater. Each week NHTP Teaching Artists will use new theater games, creative exercises, improvisation, storytelling and imagination exercises to guide the exploration and practice of acting, and learn basic acting techniques and stage directions. At the end of the six-week program, children will also have experience building characters, working with environments and costumes, reading and writing scripts, and performing. Teaching artists will develop short scenes based on the students' interests, which will be rehearsed and performed on the final day for family and friends.

Improv Club (Grades 6-8)
This fun, beginners improv program introduces 6th through 8th graders to the world of improvisational acting. Each week NHTP teaching artist Drew DeSimone will use new improv and sketch comedy games to guide the exploration and practice of improv acting. Students will learn how to improvise game-based comedic scenes using techniques such as "Yes and," "Playing at the Top of Your Intellect" and "Active Listening and Support." No previous acting or improv experience is necessary. At the end of the six-week program, students will perform a final improv and sketch show for family and friends. Classes are held at the NHTP Theater, 959 Islington St #3, Portsmouth.

Taking Root Nature and Mindfulness Wellness Series
Taking Root offers a nature-based and social and emotional learning enrichment. Students will gain tools to build resilience in the areas of self-confidence, body awareness, self-regulation, self-control, regulating the nervous system and reducing stress and anxiety. Mad Science: Engineering Mania
Do you have an excessive enthusiasm for science? Let's nourish that enthusiasm and keep up that curiosity through exciting exploration into the many exciting aspects of engineering! Become a junior architect and engineer by building model bridges and arches. Discover how airplanes defy gravity as you make a rotor kite twist and an airship twirl. Create a large child-operated pulley system and build a rubber band dragster. Make chemical engineering come to life as you mix up a few reactive ingredients for some sensational results. Get hands-on with rocket propulsion and blast off rockets across the room. Explore the role of magnetism in our everyday lives with swinging compasses and motorized devices. Put the "loco" in motion and explore Newton's laws with crash test dummies and rubber band propelled rockets. Imagine, build, design, and have a scientific blast as we channel your excessive enthusiasm in this exciting introduction to the world of engineering!

Snapology STEM Classes
ROBOT OLYMPICS
In Snapology's Robot Olympics program, students will build and program robots to compete in sports-themed challenges! Your child will expand their engineering skills by designing and experimenting with robotic attachments and refine their computer programming abilities by creating program codes that make their bots run races, play hockey, and so much more. Students will work in groups and use the LEGO SPIKE Prime technology to complete these exciting challenges. By giving our students challenges through games and friendly competition, they don't realize how quickly they are learning core programming skills for a future in STEM.

STEM SURVIVOR
Does your learner have what it takes to be a STEM Survivor? If your child enjoys taking on engineering and design challenges, working with a team to complete timed tasks and using partnerships to brainstorm and explore new possibilities to solve unique problems, this program is the perfect place for them to push their STEM and building skills to the next level! Throughout the program, students will be challenged to design and build complicated objects, work cooperatively with other to secure their place on a team, and compete to be the fastest and most precise competitors in the class. Although the tasks will be challenging, they will be structured and guided by a trained Snapologist who will make sure your child gets the support they need to be successful and get the most out of this unique, challenging program!

Intro to Skateboarding
First Push Syndicate's "Get On Board" is an introduction to skateboarding program. Using a proven instruction method, the goal is to have participants skateboard in a controlled manner from point A to B by the end of the session.
