Portsmouth DPW Hosts Public Information Meeting May 6 on Fleet Street Area Reconstruction Project

April 20, 2021

Portsmouth DPW is hosting a public input meeting via Zoom on Thursday, May 6, 2021 to discuss what residents would like to see in the sidewalk and roadway reconstruction plan for the Fleet Street Area Reconstruction Project. For Zoom registration instructions, click here.

This project will include replacement of the underground utilities and reconstruction of the roadway and sidewalks in the Fleet Street area. Preliminary engineering work on the underground utility design has begun. While the project is focused on the Fleet Street area from Hanover Street to Court Street, a larger area is being studied so the utility and other improvements can be properly designed (click here for map), The City is working with Underwood Engineers to complete this work.

The City continues to keep property owners and tenants in the affected areas informed of the engineering study work throughout the study phases via the City website, a targeted mailing list, and other outreach efforts. This meeting is part of an ongoing effort to invite public participation in the project. Additional meetings will be scheduled as the project design progresses. For more information about the project, visit the Fleet Street Area Reconstruction Project page.
