Following the fatal accident that occurred at 2:14pm on April 27, 2021, at the intersection of Greenland Road and Griffin Road, the Portsmouth Police Department is identifying the operator of the motorcycle

On April 27, 2021 at 2:14pm, Portsmouth Police and Fire Departments were dispatched to the intersection of Greenland Road and Griffin Road for a report of serious motor vehicle accident involving a motorcycle and motor carrier, commonly referred to as a tractor trailer. Prior to law enforcement arrival, we received updated information reporting one of the involved parties was unresponsive.

On April 17th, 2021 at 9:26 PM, Portsmouth Police and Fire Departments were dispatched to Bridge Street in Portsmouth for a report of a female subject who appeared to be intoxicated and it was believed she struck another party with her vehicle.

On April 13, 2021 at 11:57 pm, Portsmouth Police Patrol Officers were dispatched to a Ledgewood Drive apartment for the report of a person being threatened with a gun, which was subsequently fired by the suspect. Detectives processed the scene and determined two rounds had been fired that exited through the apartment window. Present in the room when the gun was fired was the victim and two minor children. No injuries were sustained by the victims. As a result of the investigation, the following individual was arrested:

On Thursday, March 4th, 2021, the Board of Police Commissioners voted unanimously to promote Officer Jordan Wells to the rank of Sergeant assigned to the Patrol Division. His appointment became effective on April 4th, 2021.

The Portsmouth Police Department is investigating the death of a 19 year old female which occurred in Portsmouth on March 30, 2021.

On Thursday, March 4th, 2021, the Board of Police Commissioners voted unanimously to promote Officer Brian Houde to the rank of Sergeant assigned to the Patrol Division.

Sgt. Houde is currently approaching his 16th year as a police officer. He began his career as a patrol officer with the Berwick Maine Police Department from 2005-2009. He joined the Portsmouth Police Department in 2009 where he has worked the last 12 years, serving the community in the Patrol Division.

On Friday, February 19, 2021, the Board of Police Commissioners voted unanimously to promote Sergeant Jon Aubin to the rank of Lieutenant assigned to the Patrol Division.

On Friday, January 29, 2021, the Board of Police Commissioners promoted Lieutenant John Peracchi to the rank of Captain assigned to the Investigative Division.

On December 4th at approximately 12:10 AM, Portsmouth Police and Fire Departments responded to a motor vehicle crash at 495 Ocean Road. A vehicle travelling on Ocean Road left the roadway, struck a mailbox, continued through the front lawn of a residence and then struck a legally parked vehicle in the driveway of 495 Ocean Road. The lone occupant of the vehicle was not injured. Both vehicles involved in the crash sustained heavy damage.
