Sale of a Controlled Drug / Death Resulting

On July 12, 2017, Kelly Barry, age 31, of 30 Second Street Apartment B, Dover, New Hampshire, turned herself in at the Dover Police Department on an arrest warrant by the Portsmouth Police Department and Dover Police Department for the charges of Sale of a Controlled Drug, Death Resulting and Sale of Controlled Drug for selling fentanyl that caused the death of Patrick Swain, age 32, of Portsmouth, New Hampshire.

On January 16, 2017, Kelly Barry met with Patrick Swain in Dover and sold him a quantity of the controlled drug fentanyl. Swain ingested that fentanyl, suffered an acute intoxication from the fentanyl which caused a fatal overdose at his residence in Portsmouth.

Barry was held on no bail and is scheduled for a video arraignment on July 14th at 11:30 am at the Seabrook Circuit Court.

This arrest was a joint investigation between the Portsmouth and Dover Police Department and Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA).
