Robbery Arrest

On June 30, 2017 at approximately 12:15 a.m. Portsmouth Police Officers responded to the Dolphin Striker at 15 Bow St. for a fight. As a result of the investigation Police arrested:

Paul Mackey (age 62)
24 Alehson St.
Rye, N.H.

and

Jack Mackey (age 22)
24 Alehson St.
Rye, N.H.

Paul was charged with two counts of Simple Assault and a single count of Disorderly Conduct. All three charges are misdemeanors. Jack was charged with Robbery, Falsifying Physical Evidence and Disorderly Conduct. The first two charges are class B felonies and the third is a misdemeanor.

The on scene investigation revealed that Paul was involved in an altercation with another patron and during this a witness was using their cellular phone to video the incident. Jack is alleged to have approached this witness and question the video taping before grabbing the witness by the neck and physically taking their phone. After taking possession of the cell phone Jack disposed of it by throwing it toward the Piscataqua River. Officers searched for the phone, but it was not found.

Paul was released on personal recognizance bail. Jack’s bail was set at $1,500.00 cash which was posted. Arraignment dates for August 21, 2017 were given.
