The Read Woke Challenge is for all ages.

Patrons ages 0-109 can join in! Choose a book to read from each of the 10 categories using the recommended lists, let us know what you learned, and earn badges. 

According to the creator of Read Woke:

...A Woke Book must:

  • Challenge a social norm
  • Give voice to the voiceless
  • Provide information about a group that has been disenfranchised
  • Seek to challenge the status quo
  • Have a protagonist from an underrepresented or oppressed group
