Past Event: Community Development Week April 5-9

April 5, 2021

National Community Development Week provides the opportunity for communities like Portsmouth to highlight the impact of the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development's Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) Program in a weeklong celebration with Congress, program partners, program participants, and the public. The objective of National Community Development Week is to educate the community and congressional members on the CDBG programs/projects, their impact on the community, and the importance of program funding. Funding is primarily targeted toward extremely low- to moderate- income households and individuals and includes projects like social services and public facility improvements.
