The City of Portsmouth is seeking candidates for its Director of Human Resources position. This is a dynamic, leadership role that includes the management of numerous City divisions and unions. Responsibilities include ensuring compliance with employment laws and contracts; labor negotiations, labor relations, including grievance, arbitration, and retention/termination; developing policies and procedures, administering compensation and benefit programs, recruiting of new employees, conducting employee training sessions, administering department budget, and effectively managing the overall operation of the department.
