US Route 1 Corridor Improvements - Informational Meeting

On Thursday, July 25th, at 7 p.m. in City Council Chambers, NH Department of Transportation hosted an informational meeting to discuss roadway improvements along U.S. Route 1, from Constitution Avenue to Wilson Road, and Ocean Road to White Cedar Boulevard. 

This NHDOT project will include roadway improvements to an approximately 1.7 mile stretch of US Route 1 in Portsmouth.  The purpose of the project is to enhance traffic operations and improve safety for all travelers along this section.  The City of Portsmouth has identified related projects in the City's Capital Improvement Plan, including the addition of a separated bicycle and pedestrian paths and improvements to the pedestrian crossings at intersections within this corridor.  These projects are also supported in the City's Bicycle and Pedestrian Plan.  This project will involve a multi-year design and engineering process and is not anticipated to start construction until 2025.  More project information can be found at the NHDOT project web page provided below.
