City of Portsmouth Welcomes “Tree of Luck” Shamrock Decorating and Announces Lucky Kisses Contest

March 1, 2021

Portsmouth Mayor Rick Becksted has announced a new community holiday project in the hopes that all eyes will be smiling! As with the Valentine’s Day "Tree of Love," people of all ages are welcome to create this St. Patrick’s Day- themed craft to hang on the Tree of Luck. To download the shamrock template, click here

Decorated shamrocks should be dropped off at the Senior Activity Center (125 Cottage Street, in the blue bucket under the canopy) by end of day on Friday, March 12. DPW will be putting decorated shamrocks on the tree in Market Square on St. Patrick's Day, Wed, March 17.

Guess how many chocolate kisses are contained in the jar in this photo to win them all!

For the virtual contest, Portsmouth residents are invited to send an email with their guess to bsullivan@cityofportsmouth.com and include name, Portsmouth address, phone number -- and a guess as to the number of chocolate kisses in the jar. The person with the most accurate guess will win. If there's a tie, the winners will split the chocolate kisses. Entries must be received by 5 pm on March 16, 2021.
