RE: Parental Internet Access
As you know, a major PHS initiative over the past several years has been to increase and improve school-to-home communication. Over the last few years, we have committed resources to sending home newsletters, report cards, and numerous other materials via the postal service in order to keep parents better informed. We are in the process of gathering parents' e-mail addresses so that information can be distributed electronically. If you have not yet sent us your e-mail address, please do so ASAP so that you can be on our mail listing. Simply e-mail a short note to
mrahn@portsmouth.k12.nh.us and we will start to send you information electronically.
A second component are implementing is called a Parental Internet Access Module (PIAM). The PIAM allows a parent to access a son's/daughter's report card and attendance information. Simply log on to the PHS website, and follow the links to the PIAM where you enter your child's ID# and a password that you select. This information will only be accessible to the parents with a valid password.
Please note the following:
- We will be posting only attendance, biographical and grading information - may add additional information later
- A parent will need a secure password to access information
- Parents can only access information about their son or daughter
- A student's information will not be posted if the parent has not requested access
- The posted information is a copy of our actual records and cannot be changed
(information may be 1 or 2 days old due to the time required to post data)

The password should be different from any other passwords you may use as it is designed to be used EXCLUSIVELY with the PIAM module.
