Philosophy,
Purpose & Goals
- At the Little Clipper Pre-School, we focus on placing
the children into small developmentally appropriate groups.
We do this by seeing where each child is intellectually,
socially, emotionally, and physically. Then we place them
into a group that is around the same level. We teach interesting,
hands-on activities that reflect child's likes and understanding
to spark the love of learning. We also try to stretch
them intellectually without frustrating the child. These
activities help build the foundation to positive self-esteem.
- Our purpose is to provide a learning environment in
which every child is able to excel and grow.
- Here at the Little Clipper Pre-school our goals are
to provide a safe learning center and to ensure quality
learning.

Meet
the Teachers
Ms. Carla Ronnquist
Little Clipper Preschool
Teacher

Hello, my name is Carla Ronnquist and I am the Little
Clipper Preschool teacher. I am very excited about embarking
on the journey of learning with your child. I have been
directly working in the field of Early Childhood Education
for the past 10 years, and have enjoyed every moment
of it. I have received 2 degrees, one in ECE, and one
in Behavioral Science. I am presently working on my
Masters in Early Childhood Education at UNH. I am eager
to learn and grow in this field.
I have a six-year-old boy, Aaron, who brings joy into
my life each day. I enjoy watching Aaron and other children
learn and grow through their play. Children have wonderful
imaginations and to see them at work brings me joy.
I am looking forward to getting to know your child
as an individual and watching her/him grow and develop
socially and academically through the preschool year.
Portsmouth
High School Early Childhood Education Teacher

Hello, my name is Joy Betts. I have been teaching at
the high school since 1980. My love and dedication to
children brought me to Portsmouth as first the Little
Clipper Preschool teacher, and then as the Early Childhood
Education teacher. I have enjoyed seeing the prgram grow
an change over the years that I have been here, and hope
to watch it grow more in the years to come. With that
growth this past December my class and the Little Clipper
Preschool moved into a beautiful new facility at the high
school.
