2007-2008 Initiatives
Curriculum
- Fully implement math facts program in grades 1 – 5.
- Align Everyday Math program with New Hampshire Grade Level Expectations.
- Inventory current math assessments, develop a tool for tracking and documenting student progress and discuss interventions for students working below grade level.
- Evaluate our scope and sequence of handwriting work.
- Examine services for high-achieving children and investigate differentiation and enrichment options.
Climate and Communication
- Design community service initiatives to promote responsibility, wellness and pride in self and school.
- Conduct a second round of student and staff Aspirations surveys, which give valuable information about school climate. Compare results with data from 2005 and identify areas of strength and areas in need of improvement.
- Create new school wide activities and events to promote key behavioral expectations for New Franklin students, which supports events from the previous year.
- Develop an improved plan for regularly communicating student work and progress to parents.
