Why Reseed the Mussel Beds?
After years of abuse and neglect much of the natural plants and animals on and around the Pond had disappeared. A new area of salt marsh grasses had been planted to replace an area lost to construction. Mussels are reseeded there because it is their habitat and they help to filter the water of the Pond.
