Who are we?
We are a leadership body comprised of parents, teachers, and administrators.
We strive to reflect the diversity of our community.
We are comprised of staff from all disciplines, parents with differing perspectives, and administrators who connect us to the larger concerns of the district. |
What do we believe?
We believe that knowledge of child development is the cornerstone of high quality teaching.
We acknowledge that learning happens in different ways and across different time frames for different people.
We strive to create, adapt, and maintain a culture that supports lifelong learning for all members of our community.
We recognize that the organizational health of a school has a direct impact on student outcome. |
What do we do?
We set measurable goals at the start of each school year to achieve improvements in both the teaching and learning realms.
We serve as a clearinghouse for sharing information, resources, and skills, in order to deal with whole school issues as they arise.
We endeavor to develop shared decision-making processes that reflect the values and the desires of our whole school community. |
How do we do it?
Goals and action plans are established based on areas of perceived need or weakness.
Goals may arise from within group discussions.
They may also arise from individuals outside the group. |
When is it done?
The Teaching & Learning Team meets monthly for 2 hours.
The committee also hosts twice yearly informational forums. These serve to take the pulse of our school culture, to be responsive to organizational needs as they emerge, and to provide a portal of access for the wider community.
Typically, an informational meeting takes place one evening in October and one morning in March. |
What can you do?
If you have something that you would like the T& L Team to consider, you can:
- attend an informational meeting in spring or fall and share your idea
- put a note in the T & L hanging folder in the office or,
- email a T&L member about your idea
|
| If you’d like to join T&L, look for a notice in your child’s Wednesday packet in April. |
