We are fortunate to have four computers with internet access within our classroom and one hour per week of computer lab time.

Each child had the opportunity to research various websites. The most comprehensive site was constructed by Jeremy D'Entremont. After hearing about our "Light Night" celebration in the local newspaper, he was kind enough to visit our classroom with Lighthouse Digest Magazines and reference books, one of which he authored himself. Jeremy also took the children to the top of the Portsmouth Harbor Lighthouse at the end of the school year and involved the children in the celebration of Connie Small's 100th birthday celebration. Connie and her husband were the last resident lighthouse keepers at the Portsmouth Harbor Light.

In addition to using the internet for information, the children were required to utilize the software program, Inspiration to organize their final research reports. All the children had prior knowledge of how the program functioned.

The children's research reports were produced on Appleworks 5.0 and each child was also required to import a graphic of their lighthouse onto their final copy.
