Position:                        Paraprofessional – District Wide
 
Requirements:                            

Highly Qualified status, an associate degree, a minimum of
2 years college, or direct supervised experience working with
challenging  youth preferred.

                                               

Familiar with Portsmouth School District and district
wide initiatives of personalized education and a focus on
literacy across the content areas all within a framework of
curriculum, instruction, assessment, professional
development and community.

Experience with students with disabilities and behavioral challenges
preferred.

Dependability, emotional maturity and sensitivity to the needs of
students with disabilities

Ability to collaborate with parents and staff

Responsibilities:                         

Assist special education teachers with activities related to the academic and behavioral programs for students with varying disabilities.

Work as part of an interdisciplinary team

Perform related duties as assigned by the supervising teacher, Director, Principal and/or Coordinator

 

Salary:                                           Per Paraprofessional Agreement
