In July of 2013, Mayor Eric Spear created a Blue Ribbon Senior Committee with the charge to advise the City Council on developing a Senior Center. The Senior Committee met eight times from August through December 2013 and developed a report and recommendations for the City Council for further review. Hike with Eastern Mountain Sports for Ages 55+

Portsmouth Senior Services and Eastern Mountain Sports (EMS) have partnered together to bring fun seasonal activities to anyone ages 50+. The first in the series will be a hike at Stratham Hill Park. This is an easy to moderate hike on wide and well maintained trails leading to a grassy hilltop with fire tower. Spring can be muddy so wear appropriate shoes. Bring a water bottle.
The group will gather in the front parking lot and proceed together under the direction of EMS Staff.
Future activities will include kayaking, stand up paddleboarding, and snowshoeing.

NEW! Vial of Life Program
The Portsmouth Police Department is pleased to offer, free of charge, the Vial of Life kit. It is designed to speak for you when you can't speak for yourself. The vial contains important medical information that can assist emergency personnel in administering the proper medical treatment. 4 easy steps; 1) fill out the form, 2) put the form in the special baggie, 3) hang the baggie on your fridge, and 4) hang the Vial of Life decal on front door.

All seniors are welcome to join the fun and enjoy a yummy home cooked dinner. This season we welcome a new Chef to the kitchen to delight us with his traditional favorites.
Dinner takes place at Living Innovations at 1950 Lafayette Rd.
First and Third Tuesdays of the month from May-December.

13th Annual Conference on Aging

The 2014 Conference on Aging will deliver engaging presentations and workshops, entertainment, hands-on activities, and a recently introduced cocktail hour for networking and socializing.
