On Wednesday, November 29th, 2006 at 10:00 AM, the following individual turned himself in to the Portsmouth Police Department to be served an active arrest warrant:
Joseph A. Silva III
Date of birth 06/10/75
9 Winsor Street
East Providence, Rhode Island
Mr. Silva was arrested for one count of Aggravated Felonious Sexual Assault. It is alleged that Mr. Silva met a victim through an online dating service in August. The two met in Portsmouth, New Hampshire, and it alleged that Mr. Silva sexually assaulted the victim while they were in Portsmouth.
Mr. Silva was processed at the Portsmouth Police Department and arraigned at the Portsmouth District Court. He is currently being detained on $25,000 cash/surety bond. His next court date is scheduled for December 8th at 8:30 AM in Portsmouth District Court.
