The Portsmouth Police Department is asking for the public’s assistance regarding a report that was received at approximately 1:00 this morning, concerning an unidentified male who fell into the Piscataqua River. A witness reported seeing a man fall from the railroad bridge located along Market Street in Portsmouth and into the river. The Portsmouth Police and Fire Departments along with the United States Coast Guard conducted an immediate search of the river banks and the river itself. So far, the victim has not been located.
Anyone with any information is asked to call the Portsmouth Police Department at 427-1500, the U.S. Coast Guard at 436-4415, or they can remain anonymous by calling Crime Stoppers at 431-1199 or 1-207-439-1199.
