Reference: Street Closures and No Parking in the Downtown Area
For the Seacoast Criterium/SABR Professional Bicycle Race
September 18, 2005 /8:00 am to 6:00pm
Effective from 8:00AM until 6:00PM on Sunday, September 18, 2005, I will be invoking my emergency powers, prohibiting parking and vehicular travel on certain streets in the City due to the Seacoast Criterium/SABR Professional Bicycle Race event.
NO PARKING Vehicles must not be parked on the racecourse including the following streets during the times specified or they will be towed at the owners expense:
- Congress Street all
- Daniel Street from Market Square to Penhallow Street
- Penhallow Street from Daniel Street to State Street
- State Street from Penhallow Street to Middle Street
- Middle Street from State Street to Congress Street
- Pleasant Street from State Street to Market Square
- Market Street-from Bow Street to Market Square
- Residents, business owners & employees located inside the racecourse are advised that vehicles will not be permitted to cross the racecourse except in an emergency. It is suggested that all vehicles be moved outside the racecourse prior to 7:30am.
- Other areas in and around the event will be restricted. Signs and/or barricades will be in place for these areas.
ROAD CLOSURES The following streets will be closed or restricted to local traffic only. Signs and/or barricades will be in place for these streets:
- Congress Street, Penhallow Street, Chestnut Street, Fleet Street, Court Place, Church Street, Porter Street, High Street & Ladd Street all.
- Daniel Street from Bow Street to Market Square
- State Street from Middle Street to Washington Street
- Middle Street from Court Street to Maplewood Avenue
- Pleasant Street from Court Street to Market Square
- Market Street from Bow Street to Market Square@11:30
- Islington Street from Bridge Street to Maplewood Avenue
- Maplewood Avenue from Hanover Street to Middle Street
DETOURS
- Middle Street (US Route 1 NB) traffic will be detoured onto Court Street to Atkinson Street
- Daniel Street (US Route 1 SB) traffic will be detoured at Bow Street
Persons wishing to travel between Maplewood Avenue and Middle Road are directed to use Summer Street, Islington Street and Bridge Street.
BUS PARKING Patrons of the Greyhound or Vermont bus system is asked to call 603-436-0163 for alternate pick-up locations.
POSTAL PATRONS - are asked to pick up their mail on Saturday, September 17, 2005.
