Reference: BB gun incidents

The Portsmouth Police Department is again asking for the public’s assistance in solving a new spree of criminal mischief involving BB guns and/or air guns throughout the city. During the night of Monday, Aug. 21st into the early morning hours of Tuesday, Aug. 22nd, residents reported their car windows being shot out.
The areas of Portsmouth where these crimes have been reported spreads from the downtown area of State Street through Willard St., Lawrence St., Spinney Rd., Mirona Rd., and Banfield Rd. onto Ocean Road. On Mirona Road, the window of the Lindt Chocolate Store was shot out.
We urge all victims of these crimes to report them to the police immediately, so that evidence can be properly documented, photographed and processed, and any suspect information can be disseminated as soon as possible.
Thus far, there is thousands of dollars worth of damage that has been reported. Those individuals who are arrested for these crimes may face felony charges. Anyone with any information is asked to call the Bureau of Investigative Services at 436-2511, or they can remain anonymous by calling Crime Stoppers at 431-1199 or 1-207-439-1199. Any information received that leads to an arrest may result in a monetary reward.
