On Friday, August 17, 2007 at 3:00 PM, the following individual turned himself in to the Portsmouth Police Department as a result of an arrest warrant:
Timothy R. Gonsalves
Date of birth 07/03/85
3000 Mead Hill Road
Newmarket, NH 03857.
Mr. Gonsalves was arrested for:
One count of Criminal Mischief (vandalism), a class A misdemeanor.
This arrest is the result of an investigation into graffiti that was spray painted on a building in downtown Portsmouth during June of 2007. Mr. Gonsalves was previously arrested last month by the Dover Police Department for similar crimes in Dover. Detective Robert Munson of the Portsmouth Police Department was assisted in this investigation by the Dover Police Department.
Mr. Gonsalves was processed at the Portsmouth Police Department and released on $1,500 personal recognizance bail for a September 10, 2007 arraignment date at Portsmouth District Court.
The public is reminded that graffiti is an act of vandalism, and as such, we urge the public to report these crimes to the police department so that they can be properly documented and investigated.
