On Wednesday, August 1st, 2007, the following individual was arrested by the Portsmouth Police Department as a result of an active arrest warrant:
David MacNeill
Date of birth 07/10/68
No fixed address.
Mr. MacNeill is currently incarcerated at the Rockingham County House of Corrections on unrelated charges. He was transported from the jail to the Portsmouth Police Department for processing on the following felony charges:
1 count of Burglary,
1 count of Theft by Unauthorized Taking.
These charges are the result of a lengthy investigation into the April 1st, 2006 burglary of a business located on Mirona Road in Portsmouth. At that time, Portsmouth detectives conducted interviews and processed a crime scene at a business that had been burglarized. Through further examination and analysis of the evidence seized, probable cause was developed for the arrest warrant of Mr. MacNeill.
Mr. MacNeill was processed at the Portsmouth Police Department and arraigned at the Portsmouth District Court and held on $20,000 cash and 10,000 personal recognizance bail. The next district court date is a probable cause hearing on August 13, 2007.
