On Thursday, July 24, 2008 at 9:11 a.m., the following individual was arrested by the Portsmouth Police Department as the result of an investigation of an alleged burglary and aggravated assault at a residence on Greenleaf Ave. in Portsmouth

BURGLARY
SIMPLE ASSAULT (2 counts)
FIRST DEGREE ASSAULT (2 counts)
CRIMINAL RESTRAINT (2 counts)
VIOLATION OF PROTECTIVE ORDER
BREACH OF BAIL CONDITIONS
CRIMINAL TRESPASS

Rivais is alleged to have forced his way into the apartment at about 2:40 a.m. today where he subsequently assaulted the resident and a guest.  Reportedly a weapon resembling a crow bar was used during the assault
