Reference: July 7, 2006 - Arrest
Pam Nicholson, date of birth 11/25/64 of 567 State Street, Portsmouth, was arrested last night at approximately 10:00 PM on an arrest warrant for False Report to Law Enforcement. The warrant was a result of an investigation by the Bureau of Investigative Services that started on June 16th where Nicholson alleged that she had been sexually assaulted. Subsequent investigation that included several interviews and the collection of evidence resulted in this charge. Ms. Nicholson was processed at the Portsmouth Police Department and released on $750 personal recognizance bail for an August 14th Portsmouth District Court arraignment.
The Portsmouth Police Department has a longstanding, strong relationship with Sexual Assault Support Services, a non profit agency that assists survivors of sexual assault and those affected by sexual violence in the community. These crimes are often under reported, and it is rare that an investigation results in this charge.
Both the Portsmouth Police Department and SASS want to send the message to the community that sexual assault is a serious crime and these crimes are investigated to the fullest.
