July 3, 2005 Sexual Assault Arrest
At approximately 8:30 AM on 7-2-05 the Portsmouth Police Department responded to a local hotel regarding a sexual assault that had occurred earlier in that morning.
The victim, a juvenile, was transported to the Portsmouth Regional Hospital by ambulance. The victim received treatment and was subsequently released. The victim identified the assailant as Lee “Dan” Silva.
Portsmouth Police Patrol Officers and Detectives along with the Newington Police Department located Silva at a construction site in Newington and arrested him without incident.
Silva is charged with Aggravated Felonious Sexual Assault, a class “A” felony.
Silva is currently held on $10,000 cash bail at the Rockingham County Jail. He is scheduled for arraignment in the Portsmouth District Court at 8:30 AM on 7-5-05.
