Reference: Memorial Day Ceremony
The Portsmouth Police will be honoring their fallen officers in two memorial services on May 29, 2006, Memorial Day. The first service will take place at the Calvary Cemetery on Greenland Road at 6:00PM. The second service will take place at the South Street Cemetery on South Street at 6:30PM.
The ceremony includes the calling of the roll of officers by the department's chaplain Father Angelo Pappas, a 21 gun salute by the Portsmouth Police Department's Honor Guard, followed by Taps played by Fire Fighter Ted Blood.
The residents of Portsmouth are invited to honor their Officers in this solemn ceremony.
