Reference: New England Narcotic Enforcement Officers Association Awards
On Thursday, May 24th, 2007, three members of the Portsmouth Police Department, along with members of the Hooksett, New Hampshire and Lewiston, Maine Police Departments, received the Special Achievement Award from the New England Narcotic Enforcement Officers Association. The awards were presented at the association’s annual banquet, held this year in Hyannis, Massachusetts. Awards were presented to individual officers and units for outstanding contributions in the field of drug enforcement.
This award was given for an investigation that resulted in the May 3rd, 2006 felony arrests of Richard Hamilton, Michael Hehir and Christian Jennings, and the seizure of marijuana with a street value of $40,000 (refer to previous attached press release for further details).
Receiving the award for the Portsmouth Police Department were Lt. Rodney McQuate, Detective Stephen Arnold and Detective Mark Newport. They had previously received the New Hampshire Congressional Law Enforcement Unit Citation Award for their work on this investigation.
