On Wednesday, May 3rd, 2006 at approximately 3:45 PM at the Portsmouth Traffic Circle, the Portsmouth Police Department arrested three individuals and seized a motor vehicle containing a large quantity of marijuana. The marijuana seized is worth an estimated street value of $40,000. The following were arrested as a result of this investigation:

Possession of Drugs in a Motor Vehicle
Mr. Jennings was processed at the Portsmouth Police Department and subsequently released on $10,000 personal recognizance bail for a court date of June 5th at Portsmouth District Court. Mr. Hamilton and Mr. Hehir will be held overnight at the Portsmouth Police Department for arraignment at the Portsmouth District Court tomorrow morning.
These arrests are part of a multi-jurisdictional investigation involving bank robberies and the illicit distribution of drugs. Both Fugitive from Justice charges are from the State of Maine involving a bank robbery that occurred in Lewiston, Maine on April 25th. This bank robbery is under investigation by the Lewiston Police Department. The Portsmouth Police Departments Special Investigations Unit is continuing with this ongoing investigation, and more criminal charges and arrests are anticipated in the near future as a result.
