Reference: Suspicious Package at the Portsmouth District Court House
On April 30th at approximately 1:15 pm the Portsmouth District Court received a suspicious package from an individual known to them. This individual has a history of disagreements with the Portsmouth Court as well as other courts throughout the state. Threats from this individual have been directed at judges at various times. A hearing just days ago was heard in Portsmouth Court where he was not allowed to participate.
The area around the court house was secured by officers and part of Junkins Avenue was blocked off to both pedestrian and vehicle traffic. The NH State Police Bomb Squad was contacted and arrived on scene. A member of the State Police Bomb Squad Unit dressed in a protective suit approached the suspicious package which was subsequently breached.
Upon further investigation of the contents of the package it was discovered the only items in this package were court related items.
