Reference: Internet solicitation arrest

On Thursday, February 23rd, 2006 at approximately 3:30 PM, the Portsmouth Police Department arrested the following individual after a motor vehicle stop on Summer Street:
Michael E. Spisak

Portsmouth, N.H. 03801
Mr. Spisak was arrested for one count of Certain Uses of Computer Services Prohibited, contrary to N.H. RSA 649-B:4, a class B Felony and Theft of Mislaid Property, contrary to N.H. RSA 637:6, a misdemeanor. Mr. Spisak’s vehicle was seized and impounded at the Portsmouth Police Department. A search was subsequently executed at his residence where evidence associated with this investigation was seized.
This arrest was the result of an undercover on-line investigation by the Northern New England Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force. This Task Force is grant funded through the Office of Juvenile Justice and Delinquency Prevention. It identifies persons who are attempting to solicit and/or exploit children on-line. Members of the Bureau of Investigative Services and the Bureau of Patrol Services for the Portsmouth Police Department worked in conjunction on this arrest.
Mr. Spisak was processed at the Portsmouth Police Department and he will be arraigned tomorrow morning, February 24th at 11:00 AM in Exeter District Court. At that time, a motion to bring forward a charge of Breach of Bail Conditions will be brought by City Prosecutor Susan Boone. Mr. Spisak is therefore being held without bail pending the arraignment. This investigation is continuing, but there are no further criminal charges at this time.
