Reference: Thefts - women's purses from unsecured vehicles at child care facilities

The Portsmouth Police Departments with to warn the public of several recent thefts of women's purses from unsecured vehicles parked for brief periods at Child Care facilities in Portsmouth.

The Portsmouth Police have received four reports of such thefts since February 9th. These thefts occurred at the following locations /dates / times:

Mulberry Child Care, 72 Mirona Rd., Portsmouth
  • February 9th between 5:30 p.m. & 6:00 p.m.
  • February 10th between 5:00 p.m. & 5:30 p.m.
Children's Garden, 290 Peverly Hill Rd., Portsmouth
  • February 14th between 09:15 a.m. & 09:25 a.m.
Little Blessings Day Care, 1035 Lafayette Rd., Portsmouth
  • February 15th at about 11:00 a.m.
Police remind residents that, if possible, do not leave valuables in plain sight in an unlocked vehicle and/or lock car doors. Police are also seeking the assistance of any person(s) who may have seen suspicious persons or vehicles in the area of these child care facilities around the times that the thefts occurred to report that information to police as soon as possible.
