First Night in Portsmouth
To facilitate a safe and entertaining First Night, the following traffic and parking changes will occur on December 31st
Traffic:
Church Street will be closed to traffic from noon until midnight.
Pleasant Street, between State Street and Market Square, will be closed to traffic from 8:00 PM until midnight.
Parking:
Parking on the entire length of Parrot Avenue is prohibited from noon until 9:00pm on 12/31/09.
Parking on Pleasant Street from State to Market Square is prohibited from 3:00pm until midnight on 12/31/09.
Please note the "No Parking" signs as posted - vehicles parking in posted areas will be towed at the owner's expense.
Beginning in Market Square, free bus service (First Student) will run between each performance venue.
There will be a flat rate fee or $3 to park in the Hanover Parking Garage between 4:00 PM and 8:00PM.
The fireworks are scheduled for 7:30PM at the South Mill Pond.
