This week Portsmouth Police Detectives and a Probation Parole Officer from the Department of Corrections conducted compliance checks at all of the 21 registered sex offenders that reside in Portsmouth.  No arrests were made as all of the registrants were within compliance and obeying the conditions of their probation or parole.
In addition to the 21 registered sex offenders that live in Portsmouth the Portsmouth Police Department also registers an additional 13 sex offenders that work or attend school in Portsmouth.

The Portsmouth Police Department encourages residents to be familiar with the NH Sex Offender Registry by going to  http://www4.egov.nh.gov/nsor/Search.aspx

Trick or Treating in Portsmouth will take place on Friday between 5:30 and 8:00 PM.

In an effort to prevent vandalism and promote safety the Portsmouth Police Department will have additional uniformed and plain clothes officers on patrol this weekend. Please have a safe and happy Halloween season.
