Reference: Armed Robbery Arrests
At approximately 2:20PM the Portsmouth Police Department responded to the Cabot Street Market located at 125 Cabot Street for an armed robbery. Witnesses at the store described three males entering the store, displaying a handgun and demanding cash and cartons of cigarettes. During the robbery the clerk and a customer were assaulted. The three males fled the store and then left the area in a small green car. There were no shots fired during the robbery.
A Newington Police Patrol Officer located the suspect vehicle in the Gosling Meadows neighborhood.
With the assistance of officers from NH Fish & Game, the State Police, Greenland PD and canine officers from Wells Maine PD, Rochester PD and the Strafford County Sheriff’s Department the four males responsible for the robbery were taken into custody.
Held on cash bail on robbery and related charges are:
Jose R.Morales (6-15-87), 36 Gosling Road, Portsmouth, NH
Derrick Rice (2-11-90), 17 Sagamore Rd. Apt B, Rye, NH
Joseph A. Blanco (10-26-89), 77 Blue Heron Road, Portsmouth, NH
Anthony Allen ((5-26-92), 5 Winsor Road, Portsmouth, NH
The following people have also been arrested and charged with crimes in connection to the robbery:
Matthew Sinclair (10-10-87), 1111 White Cedar Blvd., Portsmouth, NH
Charged Hindering Apprehension.
Christal Bower (2-26-89), 32 Woodlawn Circle, Kittery, ME
Charged with Assaulting a Police Officer and Resisting Arrest
Stephenie M. Smith (10-24-90), 28 Weald Road, Portsmouth, NH
Charged with Hindering Apprehension.
Bower and Smith are expected to be released on personal recognizance bail. The five male suspects are expected to be held on cash bail and arraigned in the Portsmouth District Court on October 29th, 2009.
