The Portsmouth Police Department Patrol & Detective Divisions are continuing their investigation into the disappearance of Eric James (age 33) and are turning to the public for assistance. Media coverage of this missing person investigation has already resulted in several reports of possible sightings of Mr. James, including a possible sighting of him kayaking near the mouth of Sagamore Creek in Portsmouth, Saturday night, July 18th between 8:30 – 9:00 p.m. The last confirmed sighting of Mr. James was by a Rye police officer on the beach near Odiorne Point on Saturday night, July 18th at 9:30 p.m. Mr. James’ bicycle was also found in the area of Odiorne State Park in Rye, NH on July 20th.
No clothing description is available. Mr. James is 5’6” tall, weighs approximately 125 lbs. and is age 33 (but reportedly looks much younger). Mr. James may be on foot or on the water in a green kayak.
Anyone seeing Mr. James is asked to contact local law enforcement immediately to report the sighting and is also requested to call the Portsmouth Police Emergency Communications Center at (603)436-2145.
